Overview
Pond Cottage is a 12 bed cottage with enclosed private garden and picnic benches. It's situated in the pretty village of Edgmond, near to Newport in Shropshire which is close to the M54 motorway (J3) and easily reached from the A41.
It's a short drive to Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, Shropshire Hills National Landscape Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Severn Valley Railway at Bridgnorth, Telford Town Park and Hawkestone Park Follies.
With plenty of places to eat and visit in Edgmond and Newport, as well as playing fields and a playground in the village, it is a perfect base for small groups and families to enjoy a short break.
The cottage is accessible, and has 12 beds across 4 bedrooms; 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets, spacious living / dining room, and large private garden.

One level entrance and one which is accessed via a ramp. Lights and sockets at accessible height. Wetroom with seat and grab rails. Alarm system in wetroom which sounds throughout the cottage. Bedroom adjacent to wetroom is fitted with a changing table.
Good to know
Accommodation: On the ground floor there are two bedrooms (1 with 2 single beds and 1 with 2 bunk beds), a living / dining room, and an accessible wetroom with toilet. Upstairs there are 2 further bedrooms (1 with 2 single beds and 1 with 2 bunk beds) and a family bathroom. The garden is fenced, with picnic benches and an additional toilet in an outbuilding.
Access: A key safe is in place near the front door of the property for self check-in. The cottage is adjacent to Edgmond Hall Centre for Outdoor Learning - if a group of children is visiting the main centre, we'll make sure you know before you book.
During your stay: One of our team will be available by phone to provide assistance if needed.
Bedding and towels: Please bring your own towels, toiletries and bedding. Bedding can be provided at £5pp. The cottage is cleaned professionally before your stay.
Smoking: Please, no smoking in the cottage. There are designated outdoor smoking areas.
Supporting young people: Once we've paid VAT, cleaning, utilities, and for staff to be on call, any income generated from the cottage is used to provide a subsidy for young people from Sandwell to visit Edgmond Hall Centre for Outdoor Learning with with their school. Read more about our work here.
Prices & Booking terms
£240 per night - minimum 2 night booking
VAT and cleaning is included.
£50 deposit is required at point of booking to secure dates.
Balance to be paid 3 weeks before arrival.
A refundable deposit of £100 will be required with the balance and will be returned to you when the cottage is left as it was found. Any negligent or wilful loss/damage is the responsibility of the booker and a charge may be made for repair or replacement.
Cottage rules
The cottage is used by children visiting with their school, so please help us to look after it for them. Edgmond is a lovely environment for quiet enjoyment:

No parties or events
No smoking inside the cottage
There is no access permitted to Edgmond Hall grounds or playing fields for insurance and child protection purposes.
