 OUTDOOR LEARNING WORKSHOP | 22 APRIL 2020  

Join us 22 APRIL 2020 for an exclusive FREE event at Edgmond Hall Centre for Outdoor Learning in Shropshire. 
 
The day is designed for KS1 & KS2 learning professionals to explore ways that the outdoors can be used to deliver cross-curricular learning. You'll be taking part in exciting outdoor activities, and it will be an ideal chance to discover how a visit can be used to: 
deliver rich experiences in science, history, geography and more. 
develop resilience, confidence & independence. 
check the retention & further application of previous learning 
deliver exciting learning moments in memorable places and share ways to embed them back in the classroom. 
support wider school priorities

SIGN UP FOR YOUR FREE PLACE:  

9:30am - Arrival and registration. We'll be there to welcome you to the centre. 
9:45am - Welcome, introductions, overview of the day and allocation of activity groups.  
10:00am - Activity 1 - we'll introduce creative use of the outdoors and local environments; we'll create a buzz for great group interaction to stimulate ideas to apply back at school.  
12:30pm - Return to the centre for lunch, a cuppa, and a slice of cake! 
13:00pm - Hear from a school leader about their approach to outdoor learning, successes, ideas, and how they make it work. 
13:15pm - A short tour of the centre and grounds, along with a brief overview of Sandwell's residential education service and the researched benefits of learning outside the classroom.  
13:45pm - Activity 2. 
15:15pm - Return to the centre to wrap up the day and say final goodbye's.  
 
 
note - agenda may be amended. 
A: We’ll provide all of the specialist kit that you would need to take part in any of the activities. We'll also provide lunch and refreshments.  
 
If you just dress for the weather, wear some outdoor clothes that you don't mind getting a bit mucky, and some outdoor shoes or wellies then you'll be good to go! 
 
We'll send a recommended kit list and ask for dietary requirements etc closer to the date.  
A: Absolutely, you would be welcome to bring a colleague. As places are limited, we'll be capping it at 2 per organisation.
